We are the top apartment of a three storey building of eight units. Our street comprises six of these buildings overlooking the cliffs and the Colina Sol hotel (with ocean beyond). It was built in 1982 and was recently modernized and upgraded. Development in our area is strictly controlled by the local government with no high-rises permitted.
Vale Centianes Beach is a short 5 minute walk from the door. The small town of Carvoeiro is close by with many restaurants, cafes, night spots and shops.
Our apartment has two large bedrooms and two bathrooms with sleeping for four (one with double bed and the other, two singles), plus a fold-out bed. The living room and kitchen separate each bedroom and bathroom so there is excellent privacy.
The ensuite bathroom attached to the main front bedroom is equipped with wc, bidet, bath and shower. The rear bathroom has a wc and shower. Linen is provided and a maid is available for extended stays.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the usual appliances including clothes washing machine, microwave, electric oven, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, juicer etc. There is also a generous supply of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. There is a fold-up clothes drying rack and a washing line. Iron, board, sewing kit and hair dryer are provided.
The large balcony measures over 20 feet by 15 feet and has separate access from the front bedroom and the living room. It is ideally placed for nice views, plenty of sun but always some shade. There are recliners, chairs and a table for eating outside. There is a small charcoal barbecue.
There is a wall mounted air conditioner and, For the winter months, two oil filled portable electric radiators that give nice dry heat. Tenants pay for electricity November through March. The windows have adjustable shutters which are great for keeping the apartment cool and for added security. We have fly-screens over some windows.
The apartment comes with WiFi throughout.
We have three satellite dishes and a smart TV which give German, French, Portuguese and English channels including BBC, ITV, CNN and numerous British radio stations. There is a DVD player and a well stocked library of English and German novels.
